Course Objectives
Students will improve their physical development, strength, and overall health through various forms of weightlifting (either conditioning or powerlifting). On some days, students will participate in circuit training for a cardiovascular workout.

Teacher Expectations
1. Students will have 3 minutes after the second bell to be properly dressed and prepared to participate. (2 points taken for every minute late)

2.Students must dress in appropriate P.E. attire (sweats, shorts, t-shirts, sweaters, etc.--no spandex or tight clothing) or will not be allowed to participate and receive no points for the day.

3. Students will take immediate direction from the instructor.

4. Students will show proper respect to classmates and the instructor.

5. Students will not whine, complain or, use foul language during class time.

6. Safety is the first priority.

Grading Policy (10 points given daily)
Students are graded daily by overall effort and participation along with various fitness tests throughout the semester.

1.On time, properly dressed, full effort and cooperation given throughout class. -- 10 points

2.On time, properly dressed, but not full effort -- 1 to 9 points

3.Students who chose not to work will be removed to the side of the gym so he/she will not distract others. -- 0 points

4.If not dressed properly, will not participate at all. -- 0 points

5. Removed from class or received two warnings. -- 0 points

6. Students using PE as a study hall. -- 0 points

**Extra Credit or Make-up work will be a written report on a sports article of at least 1 to 2 pages or equal workout time (only allowed to make-up 5 days for each quarter--unless instructor's permission).
