 Special Olympics
Kenny Lake will be hosting the 5th annual regional Special Olympics in February 17, 2007. Team Valdez will be competing in the State games in Anchorage on March 9, 10, and 11. Team Valdez is comprised of athletes from Valdez, Kenny Lake, Copper Center, and Glennallen. Athletes compete in cross-country skiing and snowshoeing events. Everyone is invited to come out and cheer these athletes
on!
This is a wonderful day for everybody involved. We love
spectators to drop by and cheer the athletes on. Help is needed
throughout the day. We need a group of people to keep track of
the time as the athletes cross the finish line. We need a lot
of cheerers to encourage our athletes to keep going. Lunch is
provided, therefore help cooking and setting up lunch is appreciated.
We also need help with setting up for the events and cleaning
up. If you are interested in helping out or know of someone who might want to join team Valdez, please contact LaDonna Rees at the email below.
