YKSD District-wide Inservice ~ October 12 & 13, 2005
Presented by Tamara Van Wyhe, Language Arts Consultant ~ Copper River School District

Greetings, YKSD teachers!

Here's hoping you all enjoyed your time in Fairbanks and returned to your school sites safely. It was my great pleasure to work with you during the district-wide inservice; I thoroughly enjoyed the many insightful queries and conversations. Being in the company of educators who care about their profession is always an energizing experience.

This page contains links to many of the materials and resources you requested. If there is something in particular you are looking for that is not included, please email and I'll make the addition. If you have other Six-Trait ideas and tools of your own that you would like to SHARE with your colleagues in the YKSD, they can easily be added, as well. Don't keep those great ideas and resources to yourself! Share the wealth! On a related note, remember the critical nature of citing the original author/creator of the documents you use. Be sure to include a reference in the footer of your documents (something like "Created by..." or "Adapted from..."). We teach our students the necessity of citing sources; we must do the same when we use others' work.

Please do stay in touch. I'm excited to hear about your challenges and successes this year!

Thanks, again...

Tammy (tvanwyhe@crsd.k12.ak.us)
