Kenny Lake's own Holly Knies, Hannah Carlson, Delight Kennedy, Jade Devens, Chrissy Love, Jamie Ginn and Ashley Huckabey took second place in Alaska's State Academic Decathlon competition in Anchorage on April 27 - March 3rd. The seven girls and coach Mr. Voley had a great time while returning with a trophy and seven silver team medals. Three of the girls earned individual medals. Delight Kennedy earned a silver medal for overall decathlete in the scholastic division; Jade Devens earned a bronze medal for overall decathlete in the scholastic division; and Jamie Ginn earned a sliver in overall decathlete in the varsity division. This is the first Academic Decathlon team to bring back a trophy. Next year, however, they feel destined to take first place.
